First steps: how do I begin?
PLAR portfolio development services, which all require mentor support, are temporarily paused until fall 2028 while we redevelop our PLAR process. Learn more about PLAR updates.
- Read all pages of the PLAR site carefully.
- Review the Sample Student e-Portfolios to see examples of the type of portfolio you will develop through the PLAR process.
- Refer to our list of frequently asked questions.
- You must apply for admission to your chosen Athabasca University undergraduate program before pursuing PLAR.
- You must have official transcripts for all previous coursework submitted to Athabasca University and wait for potential transfer credits to be evaluated before pursuing PLAR.
- Complete the PLAR Readiness Assessment on our Am I PLAR ready? page.
